Chairman's Welcome 2008
Well here we are again, it seems only yesterday that I was writing my letter for the front of the last rally book!
As I embark on the third and final year as your chairman is gives me great pleasure to present the rally book for the forthcoming season of 2008.
I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who runs the rallies for your enjoyment and would reiterate to you, the members, to show your support to them by making an effort to attend the rallies.
Your committee have a busy year ahead especially with the Chairman’s Junior Charity Rally at the ILPH, Snetterton…we have decided to combine this so that we can raise as much as we can for all the charities involved. The Senior charities this year are ‘Balloons for Hearts’ at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital and the East Anglian Air Ambulance. The Junior charity this year will be EACH. Please come and support these charities as they really do benefit from our help.
Please mention this rally book when using our sponsors as this enables us to cover some of the cost involved in the printing of this rally book, which also means we can give the book free of charge to Norfolk members.
This year’s National Rally is at Holkham Hall, so we are the host centre. This is a prestigious honour and I hope, as many members will attend as possible. There will be lots to do especially for our younger members so if you haven’t been to a National before, then this really is one for your diary. There will be a working party but members will need to book early for this.
Another one to look out for is 20 th September 2008, is the chance for us to dine on the HMS Belfast, there have been limited numbers allocated to each Centre, so this really will be a first come first served basis.
Some of you may or may not know that we took part in the Lord Mayors Procession in 2007, I can confirm that we are privileged enough to be offered the same opportunity in 2008. More details will be filtered through as the season progresses.
All this leaves me to say is enjoy the forthcoming season and have a safe and healthy 2008. Hopefully, Nicky and I along with Nathan and Shannon will see you somewhere on the rally field.
