Our Charities 2019-20
This year the Norfolk Centre Charities are:
Hemsby Inshore Rescue Service (HIRS)
Known as Hemsby Lifeboat, the crew has an inshore Broads boat and an offshore lifeboat. But as an independent charity, it does not receive any funding from the RNLI or government and relies solely on public donations for the estimated £25,000 a year needed to keep the boats afloat.
Each crew member is a volunteer who is equipped with a pager which can go off, day or night, when HM Coastguard needs their help. And like their RNLI colleagues they are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and they regularly work alongside crews along the coast, from Happisburgh and Sea Palling to Caister and Gorleston and Great Yarmouth.
If you are attending a Rally that is holding a raffle please buy a ticket and/or donate a raffle prize to help these worthy causes.
